3D Printing
We offer 3D printing services for rapid prototyping and small-scale production of plastic components.
Our 3D printing capabilities include FDM and SLA technologies. We support a wide range of materials and can produce complex geometries with high precision.
What this includes
- FDM and SLA printing in our Brixton, London facility
- Enclosures, brackets, fixtures and test jigs
- Appearance models and functional prototypes
- Short production runs before moulding tooling
- Design for printing, and for moulding later
Printing as part of a product, not a file upload
Most 3D printing services print the file you send. We are a product design studio, so we print enclosures, brackets and fixtures for products we are also designing the electronics and mechanics for, and we will tell you when a part needs a design change before it is printed. For one-off prints, order online from Factory London.
FDM or SLA
FDM is quick and inexpensive, and suits functional prototypes, jigs and larger parts where surface finish matters less. SLA gives fine detail and a smooth surface, and suits appearance models, small precise parts and patterns for casting. We pick the process for what the part has to do.
From printed parts to production parts
Printed parts are often the right answer for the first tens or hundreds of units, before injection moulding tooling can be justified. We design printed parts so the move to moulding later needs as few changes as possible, and we can tell you at what volume moulding becomes cheaper for your part.
