Where are you based?
Both our design studio and manufacturing facility are located in Brixton, South London.
What is "bridge manufacturing"?
Bridge manufacturing addresses the "volume gap" between prototyping and mass manufacturing by manufacturing products, typically in quantities from 10-10,000 units.
What volume of units can you manufacture?
We typically manufacture batches of 10 to 10,000 units, and can accommodate one-off builds and larger runs where a project needs them.
Who do you work with?
Most of our clients are funded hardware startups, from seed stage onwards, and established businesses developing new products or updating existing ones. For smaller projects with a clear route to volume, ask us about our licensing model, which reduces the up-front development cost.
How much does a project cost?
Full product development projects typically start from £25k, with the total depending on the complexity of the product and the stage it is at when we start. Smaller, tightly scoped pieces of work, such as design reviews and feasibility studies, are also available. We give an itemised estimate for each phase before any work starts.
What does an engagement with Embedism typically look like?
Most projects start with a discovery phase, where we agree the requirements, specification and plan before any design work begins. From there, clients typically work with us through our seven-stage process, from feasibility and concept through engineering development and design for manufacture to production.
Do you work with clients outside the UK?
We work with clients globally, primarily in the UK, EU, USA, and Asia.

Embedism's ISO 9001 certification means that our clients can trust that we have an externally validated, rigorous process in place for ensuring our work is high quality. Can you take over a project that was started elsewhere?
We can take on a project at any stage, even if it was started internally or by another product design agency. We will always conduct a thorough review of the existing designs and products before starting any further work.
